About The Playful Leash

My name is Lesley and I am the proud owner of The Playful Leash.

My love for dogs has provided me fantastic opportunities over the years to help others. I volunteered as a foster dog-mom with Pugalug Pug Rescue and I am currently a driver to get rescue dogs safely to their foster homes. I also volunteered with my pug, Cocoa, in the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. We began by visiting senior homes to keep the elderly company and continued into Paws for Stories, a reading program for kids at local libraries.

I provide a personal, reliable and trustworthy service to dog owners. I also provide care, patience and fun for dogs. I am certified in Pet First Aid, fully insured and bonded with PROfur as a Professional Dog Walker and always building my pooch knowledge through continuous studies and courses. All walk and play groups have no more than 3 dogs to ensure extra attention is given to your furry family members.
This is my promise and commitment to you - The Playful Leash is here to deliver the best your dog deserves.

Our Support Team
On The Playful Leash team are my 3 pugs:

Cocoa
A goofy, loving and lazy boy; the true essence of a pug. He is a retired Therapy Dog through St. John Ambulance. Cocoa had to pass an evaluation and testing to qualify. He was in the Paws 4 Stories Program, where children read to him at public libraries to improve their reading skills and comprehension. He loved to snuggle by their side and hear the stories while helping sound out words and build confidence.

Ella
Playful, energetic and flirty. We knew she was special the moment we saw her; she has a sparkle in her eye that captures the heart and a happy-go-lucky spirit to match. Ella likes to think she's the leader of the bunch, which is humourous since she is the smallest! This little pug has a ton of personality in a small package. You will always find Ella with a toy, ready to run and burn that never-ending energy.

Hugs
Sweet, gentle and funny. She is the latest addition to our family - we adopted her through Pugalug Pug Rescue (with whom I also volunteer). We received her shortly after recovering from eye surgery and aided her in the healing process. Hugs is a wonderful senior; although down to one eye, she is very alert and loves the action. We were originally fostering Hugs, but she was such a perfect fit we had to adopt her. Welcome to the family!
